Twitter is an extremely popular social media site, and many companies are exploring ways to use it for marketing purposes. With all the attention it’s getting, it seems as though anyone who is anyone is posting updates on Twitter. I must not be anyone. I’m a copywriter. Twitter never seemed to apply to me. If you need a copywriter to write a 150 character tweet, you are doing something horribly wrong. But that doesn’t mean I’m not interested in the marketing...
  • Mechanical Search Engine Optimization Can Only Go So Far
I’m a big fan of machine-made search engine optimization. Why not? If you use decent practices and make your website highly spiderable, many of the pages will end up get-at-able via Google search. That means free traffic. But in the last few years, mechanical SEO has become necessary, but less effective. Google spends a lot of time these days weighing domains for their relative merits, and not just ranking the internet on a per page basis like they used to. A few years back it was...

  • Bounce Rates Don’t Matter In Google Algo
Bounce rates are being discussed regularly by SEOs Apparently SEOs have been having very heated discussions about the concept of “bounce rates” on SEO. Myself, I figured a high bounce rate is asinine. Consider blogs. Most of the traffic to a blog arrives from a search engine and lands on a single view post. They find exactly what they’re looking for and tend to bounce! It doesn’t matter what the subject matter is or how good your content is. People are using Google to find...
